Sloped tray for linear drainage positioned at the shower edge
Quick and reliable creation of a necessary slope for the appropriate drainage of barrier-free showers – it’s easy with our KERDI-SHOWER polystyrene sloped trays. KERDI-SHOWER-LTS is the sloped tray of choice for KERDI-LINE-H or -V linear drainage positioned at the edge of a shower. It can be laid on a levelling layer and, in the case of vertical drainage, directly on the load-bearing substrate. The ready-to-tile, sloped trays are available in different dimensions and can also be individually cut to size with a utility knife thanks to pre-marked cutting grooves.
Note: The front of our sloped tray features the tried-and-tested and reliable KERDI waterproofing membrane.
This blog we will go step by step with text and images to guide you through the installation of what we at Sussex Wetrooms consider to be the best linear drain wet floor tray on the UK market today!
step 1 remove the existing sub floor to expose the floor joists.

you can see here we have a lot of pipe work running under the floor, we need to re route this pipe work to enable us to create a solid sub base for our Schlüter-Systems KERDI-SHOWER-LTS tray.

now the pipe work is moved we can install 2″x1″ batten rebated 18mm from the top of the joists, note that if your floor joists are not level you can adjust the rebate to set your level. In this installation we are using a Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-G3 drain with a central outlet. To ensure this is fully supported the rebated batten on the internal side of the central joists is set at -36 mm to allow the installation of the G3 drain installation accessory

now we have installed our rebated batten we can install the Schlüter-KERDI-LINE-G3 drain and installation accessory, perform a drain test to ensure all waste pipe connections are good.
cut and install 18mm hardwood ply to sit on our rebated batten securing at a minimum of 200mm centres to form a solid sub floor for our Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER-LTS tray. Note we have applied our Kerdi board to the walls prior to setting the drain and tray, this is essential as the G3 drain in this installation is set at the wall / floor junction.

Prime the Ply Sub floor, set the Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER-LTS tray on a 6mm square notched bed of C2 S1 tile adhesive ensuring you have 100% coverage. If your sub floor preparation is good and level there is no reason why your tray should not be level on the horizontal with a perfect fall to the drain.

This concludes our Schlüter-KERDI-SHOWER-LTS install, in our next blog we will cover the waterproofing process using Schlüter-KERDI-KEBA and Schlüter-KERDI-COLL We hope that you have found this useful and informative! if you have any questions or would like to know more please feel free to contact us at info@sussexwetrooms.co.uk
